How to turn Off DEP

  • Right click on My Computer > chooses Properties.

  • Click on Advanced system settings in the left panel.

  • In the Advanced tab, click on Settings under Performance.

  • In the Performance Options, click on Data Execution Prevention tab.
  • By default DEP in tuned on for essential Windows programs and services

  • Type these following commands and hit enter.
  • To always turn on DEP:
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOn
  • To always turn off DEP:
bcdedit.exe /set {current} nx AlwaysOff
